I work on projects examining a range of topics in biological oceanography and marine ecology, with an emphasis on linking findings to ecosystem management. That includes studies focusing on phytoplankton and primary production dynamics using mooring sensor technology, and large spatial scale satellite analyses of phytoplankton bloom timing and ice dynamics. I am interested in data analyses, and I often work with large datasets including high resolution moored sensors, ship survey, and satellite datasets. I am an interdisciplinary scientist and also work on several projects that link plankton and climate data to essential fish habitat modeling, as well as crab condition and distributions.
