Under the terms and conditions of the University of Washington Cooperative Agreement with NOAA, all CICOES-funded publications must have a contribution number. If CICOES provided funds or facilities that support you or your research, any publication resulting from that support, in which you appear as a contribution author, must have a CICOES contribution number and include the following statement of acknowledgment.

• For research funded under the “old” CICOES agreement (which began 07/2020):
  • “This publication is [partially] funded by the Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean, & Ecosystem Studies (CICOES) under NOAA Cooperative Agreement NA20OAR4320271, Contribution No. ______.”
• For research funded under the current CICOES agreement (which began 07/2025):
  • “This publication is [partially] funded by the Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean, & Ecosystem Studies (CICOES) under NOAA Cooperative Agreement NA25OARX432C0012, Contribution No. ______.”
• If the research covers both awards, then include both NA20OAR4320271 and NA25OARX432C0012.
